With a capacity of more than a quart (34 ounces), this electric juicer can prepare family-size portions with little operator effort. Large and small cones fit on the reamer to accommodate different-size fruits. The reamer automatically reverses itself to extract the maximum amount of juice, while a stirrer presses juice from the pulp in the strainer. Finally, there's an adjustable control that regulates how much pulp goes into the juice, a feature margarita fanciers will welcome. For storage, the cord wraps in a slot around the base, and a cover protects against dust. Hand wash this juicer in warm soapy water. --Fred Brack

Editor's Choice:A great first juicer, or a good juicer for someone who doesn't juice every day, Black & Decker's CitrusMate Plus citrus juicer is our choice for best citrus juicer under $50. It will fit into every budget and still deliver lots of fresh juice. This juicer is extremely easy to use, as you just install the cone you want to use (it comes with two cones, making it adaptable for different sizes of fruit), plug it in, and press the fruit down into the cone. Then it goes to work automatically.

I bought this to replace the really terrible Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer that was so frustrating to use, I was happy to have dropped it and broke it.

This new juicer is really nice. It's easy to use, easy to clean and very compact. So far I've only juiced lemons with it, but I'm sure it's good for oranges too.

I like that it comes with different sized reamers and that everything is dishwasher safe.

I use this in Southern California for oranges and grapefruit. I love the power and simplicity. You just push the fruit down onto the dome-shaped cone (it has two different sizes) and the juice and pulp fall into the container. The mechanism DOES auto-direction-reverse sometimes, which the manual explains and is good for getting the juice out. If you push TOO hard, it will stop until you let up and then it works instantly again. I've seen some complaints about that in the reviews here but I have no problem with that; if you intend to use brute force, buy a hammer. This machine has plenty of power and works very fast when used properly (just a few seconds for a half-orange). I love it and at this price it's amazing.

Love it! I used it for tangelos and oranges and didn't have a single problem. I bought it at Target for $17, a bargain compared to the other companies with more expensive models that didn't hold up. Clean up is a cinch - just watch out for an occasional flying seed!
