| I have had this machine for 2 years now and I have some good observations about quality and price. The Tassimo demonstrator person told me about "double tapping" the expresso T-disc to get a double shot, which improves the final flavor I think. Just run the expresso t-disc twice before you insert the creme disk. Shaking the creme disk before use as Tassimo recommends helps also. But here is the best part for me. The T-Discs are pricey. Not like Starbucks but pricey for home since we have several drinks a day. Don't get Gevalia T-Disks! Get the new Tassimo Maxwell House T-Discs! Same packaging and a BIG difference in price. I really can't tell the difference in flavor between Gevalia and Maxwell House(for real). Who sells them? Well super Target, Super Wal-Mart in stores and also Tassimo on-line. Super Wal-Mart sells an 8 pack for only $4.34! I can thank my sister in Boise for this big tip! So now I can double my Latte's for the drive to the office. Target sells a 40 ct pack for only $28.00 approximately. Enjoy!! I bought this coffee maker with apprehaension because I have used a French press for years due to the fact I've been unhappy with every other electric coffee maker I've bought in the past, which includes at least 6 drip machines and one individual cup make. This Tassimo system, however, is AWESOME. You can make coffee, lattes, cappucino, hot chocolate, chai tea and regular tea with it, and the beverages come out tasting delicious! And you can make all different types of beverages all in a row-no waiting between preparing different beverages. The machine is easy to use. You just put in a coffee disc and press a button. If you're making a latte or cappucino you put in another disc and press a button again. It's that easy. This machine is also a snap to clean. You just wipe it down, for the most part. There are a few little parts that I take out and wash occasionally. It maybe takes 3 minutes to wash them. You can buy the coffee disks at Super Walmart, on-line, Bed, Bath & Beyond and Linens & Things. The Gevalia "Coffee Crema" coffee disk is absolutely delicous. Starbucks makes disks for this machine, too and I'm looking forward to trying them. A kudo here to Amazon: my first Tassimo machine didn't work. I was bummed. Amazon told me to mail it back to them, postage paid, and they OVERNIGHTED a new machine to me immediately before they even got the defective machine back. So, you can definitely buy from Amazon with confidence. This is a fun appliance and a must for coffee drinkers. I like mine so much I purchased another one as a gift. I recommend buying this machine, especially when Amazon has free shipping on it. I enjoy one cup of coffee each morning. The Tassimo coffee machine allows me to make one cup very easily and have my choice of type and stlye of coffee each day. I enjoy this machine very much. |
