Average Customer Rating: 4.5

Featuring an ergonomic handle and smooth lines, Braun's 1,500-watt electric water kettle handily sits on a separate heating element. When water boils--one cup takes only 70 seconds--it's a relief to pick up the kettle and pour without worrying about the plug dragging behind. Once the kettle is removed from the base, it automatically turns off for safety. This good-sized kettle heats up to six cups of water, making it ideal for small meetings at the office or to quickly heat up water (and water only, please) at home. It has an anti-calcification filter to help keep the water tasting clear and clean. --Dana Van Nest
I use it for 2 month already and very happy with this product.
During 1st week I smell a little bit plastic when water was boiling, but later this smell has gone.

IF you are looking for a water kettke, look no further. This is "THE ONE" you want. It boils 16 oz, 2 cups, in under 2 minutes. It has a detachable base and is light weight and ergonomically well designed. I know three people who have purshcased this item and all LOVE it.

I bought this ketttle a long time ago and waited to get some positive results, but no.
Here is the problem, if you are a tee drinker you don't want to taste or smell anything else but the tee. This kettle has has very strog oder of plastic comming from lid and it gets worse with higher temperature. Now when you boil you have to keep the lid closed (electromechnical interlock). The steam condensate, it drips back and gives the water a real nasty taste.
I think the black version uses different material (I don't know) but I am getting a stainlees steel version.
