| Very disappointed with this coffee maker! The coffee is not hot enough and my old 15 year old Krups beats this hands down without a question! I only want my money back and stay away from this model you will be wasting your money unless of course you want warm coffee. And the taste is "tasteless". I had to get my old Krups out and make coffee this morning after the newer Cuisinart totally flopped! I have tried everything to get a moderately strong cup of coffee from this coffeemaker, and nothing works. Less water, ever-finer grinds, stronger beans, SEVEN heaping 2Tbsp scoops for 10 cups of water, metal filter, paper filter ... nothing works. No matter what I do, the coffee comes out watery and weak. People who like weak coffee can get that from any coffeemaker on the market; all they have to do is use less coffee. So there's no excuse for this expensive coffeemaker's inability to brew a strong cup. I have used several coffemakers from Braun, Hamilton Beach, and DeLonghi, and while they've all had their problems, none have been incapable of brewing a decently strong cup, as this Cuisinart is. The consistently high reviews encouraged me to buy this coffeemaker, but this is one of those occasions where the weight of numbers was misleading. If you like strong coffee (or even want to have the option), avoid this maker. I was impressed with the speed of the order, 3 days from ordering till in my hot little hands. The coffee maker brews a great cup of coffee too. Two items to discuss: the cost of the pre-filter for the brewing water $20.00 for a year supply? Also, there could be a improvement to the clock (a battery back-up) if you lose power or unplug it. So, other than that, I am happy with my purchase & also very happy at the quick shipping I received. |
