| A floating hinge and two sets of cooking plates turn this multifunctional unit into a contact grill, panini press, large open grill, or griddle. Made of brushed stainless steel, this four-in-one, space-saving appliance offers cooking options that range from pancakes, sausages, and grilled cheese to fish, hamburgers, and panini. Its floating hinge adjusts to the thickness of food, while adjustable temperature controls ensure food is cooked properly. The unit features a sturdy panini-style handle and convenient indicator lights, as well as nonstick grill and griddle plates that are removable, dishwasher-safe, and designed to drain grease away from food for healthier cooking. Two dishwasher-safe drip cups to collect grease are included, plus a dishwasher-safe scraping tool for easy cleanup. The unit measures 13 by 11-1/4 by 6-1/2 inches and carries a limited three-year warranty. --Catie Unger |
| The idea of this product is nice, being that it serves as a griddle & a grill & has removable dishwasher safe plates.
My beef with this product is that any "juice" on the top grill plate leaks down the back of the unit when the top is opened during cooking. ie: when cooking bacon & such. This does not make for fun cleaning. Pay $130+ for a product that works improperly? No thank you! I have had this product for about six months now. I'm a single grad student and I need to be able to cook healthy food fast. This griddler does the trick. It is very sturdy and I like the interchangable plates. I haven't had any problems with grease splattering everywhere like others have mentioned; but if you're cook something greasy.... you should expect grease. The only down side to this product, which isn't really a problem for my household of one, is the plates are not really big enough to cook maybe four servings of something at a time. If you have a big family or cook for more than three people at one time on a regular basis, I would look at a larger grill. I recommend and I'm not easily impressed as some reviewers claimed people who like this product are. haha griddle me this... sorry I couldn't help it- it's called the griddler for crying out loud ok?!?!? anyway i've had this for over a year now and it's great. i like the removable plates and especially that the two are separate so you can have one side going as a griddle and the other as a grill (perfect for making bacon and eggs). i've also made pancakes, steaks, burgers, sammiches, chicken, breakfast burritos and... mmmm... i'm getting hungry but what i really like making is paninis. once you make em yourself it's hard to pick up an overpriced one at a deli or cafe or whatever. so the heating surface has been consistent throughout- there are no warmer or colder spots- it always runs perfectly. it's well made, nothing has rusted on it or broke off. but i think the best selling point is that it's extremely easy to clean. just wipe down the unit, pop off the hot plates and run it under water with a wet paper towel and a droplet of soap and all the sticky cheeses or burnt meats, egg whatever slide right off. pretty good after a year's worth of use. |
