| This Kitchenaid food processor is a fine piece of equipment.
I've used it for pureeing vegetables and slicing potatoes so far, and everything works well. There was no leakage from the purees, even though the mixture was fairly liquid and exceeded (a little) the "maximum fill" line. I'm glad I bought the 12 c size, anything less would have been too little capacity. One note of caution, make sure you use the plastic spatula provided with the unit. I was a little disorganised once and used a metal spoon -- although careful with it, I ended up putting a few minor scratches on the work bowl -- not a real issue though. As discussed in earlier reviews, the blades are super sharp, take extra care when handling them. Overall, it's well worth the price. I love to cook and had been wanting to buy a food processor for a long time. But the heavy prices kept me back from buying it at the stores. This product costs nearly 50-75% more at major stores like Macys and Kohl's. But this christmas my husband bought me this appliance at Amazon for this awesome low price. It came home in three days , very securely packaged. Not a piece missing or broken. Now it not only looks great on my countertop but works great. I use a lot of dough while cooking and this product makes my job real easy. The slicing and shredding discs work very well too. Having the small work bowl is a real plus for smaller jobs. Though bulky this appliance is very easy to clean.I only gave it four stars just because it takes up a lot of space on the countertop vertically.Overall I am very pleased with my purchase! This is my first "real" food processor and I love it. We have had a couple "smaller" ones and this thing blows it away. Not just in accessories included, which are plentiful, but in performance, ease of use and sound. This thing is very quiet! There are two things that stand out as the only negatives, though they don't really weigh heavily with me since everything else about it is so good... The liquid volume limit... not enough. I found myself needing to puree a soup and had to do it in 3 batches. Also, it's a bit heavy. Not a problem if it lives in one spot, but we have to store it away after use, and my wife has a hard time with it. Overall though, I'm extremely satisfied. |
