| I believe that, whether you're single or serving for a family, every homeowner should have one of three small appliances for their kitchen, with a mixer being a centerpiece (the other two being a blender and a food processor). I'll admit that I am a beginner cook, but I also believe it's essential to have the right tools from the start, something reliable and aesthetically pleasing in one's repertoire for the long haul. KitchenAid small appliances have been used in my family for years, and now that I'm on my own, I plan on continuing a long-standing tradition. I love this mixer so much, it has it's own counter in my kitchen. Wonderful machine. So many ways to use it. I always wanted to make homemade bread but hated the idea of kneading the dough (too much work) and didn't want to buy a bread machine... this mixer does the job for me in 5 min. I'm buying one for my mom. This mixer works as advertised. I have made several batches of bread dough with positively no problems. The lighter work, like cookies and cakes, is absolutely a cinch. I wish I had purchased this machine years ago. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and the results are excellent. My next purchase will be the food/meat grinder and sausage stuffer. I'm looking forward to making fresh, flavorful sausage. I'll let you know how that works out in another review. Diane Paul |
