| Designed by the award-winning BMW Designworks exclusively for Starbucks, the Sirena is a 15-bar pump-driven espresso machine with dual brewing spouts, a stainless steel broiler, and a patented back pressure adapter to ensure great espresso extraction. The included steam wand with pannarello adapter lets you easily froth milk for lattes or cappuccinos. A ground coffee filter lets you make single or double shots, or use the included pod filter which accommodates E.S.E. coffee pods. Easy to read status lights show when the machine is ready to brew or steam, and the Rapid Steam boiler allows for quickly switching from brewing to frothing. The 57.5-ounce water tank removes easily for cleaning and refilling and a blue LED light indicates when the water tank is empty. Additional features include an adjustable and removable drip tray, a cup-warming surface, programmable brew settings, a temperature gauge, and an auto shut-off safety feature after 90 minutes of inactivity. | The machine was easy to unpack and the quick-start guide had me up and running in a few minutes. With my old machine, I could never get the coffee tamped right in the filter. Now I just grind the coffee, scoop it into the portafilter, attach it to the machine, and push a button to pull the shot. The machine gets up to temp quickly, especially the steam wand. I'm really pleased with the performance (consistent espresso shots and quick, easy steaming) of this espresso maker, and would certainly recommend it to others. And the clean design looks fantastic on my counter-top... This is a terrific machine. I wanted an espresso machine that was convenient, made of quality components and (ultimately) delivered a nice, flavorful shot of espresso (to get my day kick started). This machine did not disappoint. I found set-up a breeze - just unpack and plug-in. I was pulling shots right away!! The machine came up to temp. in about 1/2 the time of my old unit. Plus the flip to steam took about 5 seconds vs. 10x's the wait time of other machines. Clean-up is very easy too - not a lot of parts to disassemble/clean/reassemble. Of course, the ultimate performance measure is taste. Overall taste, in my opinion, was terrific. Lots of variables and subjectivity go into a taste analysis - but, so far, I've found consistent full flavor, aroma, temperature, i.e. overall quality and 100% enjoyment. |
