This product is great value, costing about half of many competitors. It works well, produces great 1.5lb loaves (I haven't used the 2lb setting yet) and they even give you a little device for extracting the paddle once the loaf has been discharged from the bin. The settings are straightforward but watch out for resetting once you've used the timer. There is no memory, so you have to set the buttons at each use. Highly recommended for the price.

I bought this because of the price, and I really got what I paid for. By that I mean it is cheaply made and apparently there is little if any quality control for this breadmaker. It was missing the paddle that fits into the bread pan. It was not attached to the cord nor anywhere in the box. To Sunbeams credit, they did answer their phone with a live person. They did send me a new paddle. But it did take two weeks to arrive. But the topper is that the bread machine made terrible grinding noises every few seconds, like the gears were bad. This was not a good machine. I will try again.

I debated a long time before finally purchasing this machine. It is the 4th one I've had in the past 10-12 years (first 2 were Breadman machines and the last was a Cuisinart). My previous machines were much more expensive than this, but they all ended up having problems. My concern with this one was that I was afraid I was going to get what I paid for, with this one being so cheap. However, I figured I'd rather pay ~$40 and have it die than pay ~$100 and have it die in a few years.

So far, I've been very pleased with the machine. You don't get all the fancy things that the more expensive machines have (like it telling you what stage of the process it is on). And the manual is lacking a good chart showing how long it takes each different menu cycle for the different loaf sizes. But it makes bread well and that's what a bread machine should do. My regular white and wheat bread recipes have come out fine, as did the pizza dough. My french bread loaves have all been a bit airy, but I'm blaming the recipes instead of the machine.

PROS:
1) Quiet
2) I love the hook to pull the paddle out of the loaf if it gets stuck
3) Mixes ingredients well, even for 1.5 lb loaves (I was afraid it would leave dough in the corners, but it has never happened). Even my 1 lb pizza dough recipe worked well
4) Haven't had a failed loaf yet

CONS:
1) Poor manual
