I had a round type dehydrator before which is an inexpensive one. It didn’t dry the food perfectly and just died so soon after using it for only a couple of times. I purchased this one by Weston as a replacement and when I first used it I can tell this has a quality like that of the expensive ones.

I’m delighted that this one does the real food drying. It has a unique horizontal drying system which provides an even and efficient dehydration process. Because of this horizontal drying process, there is no need to rotate trays. Its fan works quietly. It provides a huge drying space ideal for drying large batches. One downside however, is that trays can’t be removed. I wish I can use fewer trays to create more space when I’m working on a smaller batch. But it doesn’t affect its performance so I can’t complain.

I’m glad I purchased this great product. I would never again use a product so inefficient just like what I had before.
